a political education - and Melbourne!

stepping stones: collage, pastels and watercolour

A long weekend away looms - my friend D and I are flying to Melbourne today, to attend and present at the national Acceptance and Commitment Therapy conference. I have been working on our presentation much of the last week. It could be a large crowd, which makes me nervous. But we have lots of excellent artwork to show them. The greatest challenge is the 7kg carry on luggage allowance. I think I have it sorted, but the temperature in Melbourne looks to be ranging from 38 today to 21 on Sunday...so I need a few options! I love this ted talk about buying what you need in op shops on arrival, however I am not that brave, and we won't have that much time.

Started my politics unit for real on Monday night: we have to publish a blog article (not on our own blog though!) and there is the usual group assignment. I got really good marks this semester (just finished) - almost too good. Personally, I never mark that high! Our main task this summer semester is to watch lots of news and current affairs programs, to understand the topic better. Or I could just listen to S's daily ravings about Campbell bloody Newman. (Don't go here if easily offended).

Santa fun run last Sunday - note the Christmassy-coloured road markings

I was only a passer-by on our regular Sunday bike ride. It looked like it was way too warm to be doing this, why not in July?

And now I am off to i-view.
more later.
